Algorithms
GATE CSE Algorithms — asymptotic analysis, sorting, graph algorithms, greedy, and dynamic programming.
Learning outcomes
- Compare Θ, O, and Ω on standard examples
- Apply BFS, DFS, Dijkstra, and Kruskal/Prim ideas
- Set up a simple DP recurrence
- Spot the right algorithm from a problem stem
Overview
Algorithms questions test complexity, standard sorts, BFS/DFS, shortest paths, MST, greedy choice, and DP recurrences.
You do not need to write long code — you must recognize the algorithm and compute a result or complexity.
Revise proofs of correctness only at the level GATE asks (invariants, greedy stays safe, overlapping subproblems).
